Gay Can Enjoy Life - Gay Restaurants and Gay Cafes

By Ada Denis

There aren't many restaurants in London that wouldn't welcome members of the gay community and it's always nice to eat somewhere that feels a bit like home. For these kinds of places, there's no better area than Soho, where the gay scene really comes alive in this city. There are lots of places to have a formal dinner, or just to grab a quick snack, and all of them advertise themselves as gay-friendly venues. A great place to check out for a sophisticated dining experience is Rock Garden, based in ber-trendy Soho. With a dark and seductive feel, Rock Garden can be classed as one of London's number one dining spots.

It even has an after-dinner dance floor to take you into the early hours of the morning. If it's something more chilled out that you're looking for, then why not try First Out Caf Bar, also in Soho. It has a more bohemian, relaxed vibe, and has the impressive acknowledgement of being the oldest gay restaurant in London.

Gay dinners

In any city in the world, feeling like you're in Hollywood can always be nice. In London, there is a great opportunity to do this, by visiting a traditional diner. Every good film that's come out of the great US film industry has featured a diner in it somewhere; we are sure of it. Well, maybe not. But they remain a great place to meet other gay people over a cup of steaming coffee and a slice of pie

Gay hotels

It's all well and good knowing where to get a good meal with a friendly smile, but it's just as important to be able to stay in a comfortable, affordable hotel, with good access to the highlights of London and a welcoming feel. There are plenty of gay-friendly hotels around the centre of the city to choose from, and they all have wonderful features. While going out in Soho can be a lot of fun, it can be nice to escape to more upmarket areas to bed down for the night.

There are a number of luxurious hotels that cater for gay people in Mayfair, one of the most expensive and luxurious areas of London. For a smaller budget, there are plenty of guesthouses and apartments run by companies that are gay friendly. If you are travelling on a budget, why not check out a handful of youth hostels located around the Soho area. Their location means that there is often a friendly and accepting atmosphere when it comes to gay guests. - 16759
