Simple Tips To Recycling An Old Bridesmaid Dress

By Luce Cometa

If a person is looking for an inexpensive way to use used bridesmaids dresses, there are a number of ways to alter or dress up the garment to make it new again.

An old bridesmaids dress should not gather dust when the wedding is over. This seems like a waste of money. A dress worn only once can seem ineffective. Alternatively, if someone is able to dedicate their time and creativity to used bridesmaids dresses, they can locate a new abode for it, or modify it to adjust to the user's daily lifestyle.

One thing you can do is to recycle bridesmaid dresses. You can have a dress shortened and you could have the dress completely taken apart and remade into a different silhouette or shape.

Thus, it is important to consider what you want from this used bridesmaid's dress. Embroidery and fringe are also good ways to to change the look of the bridesmaid dress. Used bridesmaids dresses can be remade into a new style, creating a dress that can be worn in a variety of situations including work or for casual events, such as luncheons.

Also, try using different accessories along with your bridesmaids dresses. Anyone can transform a bridesmaid dress into something totally different by just adding a blazer or even an attractive cardigan. An extra accessory can turn a bridesmaid's dress into an outfit suitable for everyday wear or for other parties.

You can cut up the dresses and make some quilts with the material. You can use the different colors and create a great looking quilt. Or you can also make some little shirts for little girls. Thus, you should consider taking the dress apart. This will help you make everything from couch covers to handbags. Ultimately this makes the used bridesmaid's dress that much more useful, especially if you would never wear the dress again.

Also, the dress can change in appearance by simply having it tucked into the waist of a pair of jeans or pants. Additionally, a person could wear a button down shirt over the dress so that you end up using only the skirt section of the dress. Change your perspective and the bridesmaid dress takes on a whole new look.

If a person has used bridesmaids dresses and has no intention of wearing them again, altered or not, he or she should consider giving away the dress, and of course. There are a number of organizations that ask for donated formal dresses for girls who can not afford such dresses for formals they would like to attend or for women who need them for jobs. There are other options available if you are looking for ways to earn cash. This is a great way for a person to save some money and find the right dress for them, and people are always looking for inexpensive formal dresses to help them save money when attending an event. - 16759

Writing Winning College Admissions Essays

By Daniel Z. Kane

While not the most important documents in your admissions file, good essays can be the difference between receiving the decision you want and the decision you dread. And, they may be most important at the extremely selective colleges and universities, where virtually all applicants display similarly impressive grade point averages, class rank, and standardized test scores.

In fact, some colleges use essays merely to ensure that applicants can write acceptably. The Harvard's, Yale's, and Princeton's of the world may view essays with far more discerning eyes.

Except in highly unusual circumstances, an essay will not compensate for failure to complete a rigorous college prep program or for grades significantly below the majority of applicants. And, in most instances, statements which offer excuses for below potential academic performance will not be well received. Neither will statements promising that you will earn a 4.0 grade point average, someday become an outstanding alumnus, or lead the football to four record breaking seasons. Save your excuses and grandiose self-assessment for someone who cares, or at least someone who hasn't heard it all before.

What a good essay can do, however, is give you a chance to talk to an admissions committee. Take advantage of it by:

1. Expressing yourself to the best of your ability. Write, rewrite and edit until you are fully satisfied with the result. Then, ask someone who writes well to critique your work and make a final revision.

2. Offering honest insight about yourself. Do not be afraid to be self-effacing...admissions committees often find it very refreshing.

3. Telling the committee anything you want them to know which is not included elsewhere in your admissions file.

5. Staying away from the kinds of statements beauty queens make about their love of America, God, and humanity.

A great essay will seldom offset mediocre academic performance. But, a poor essay can sink an otherwise fairly attractive candidate. In other words, follow the suggestions above, remember for whom you're writing, and don't take any big chances. - 16759

Email Marketing and The Mailing List

By Sam Ernie Orion

We all know that every aspect of Internet marketing has a specific tool that helps to drive traffic and sales, and any email marketing campaign is no different. What you need to concentrate on here is developing and building up a mailing list since that is the real cornerstone of any successful email marketing campaign. Remember that there is no denying the power of a well run email marketing campaign and with that in mind there are specific things you can do to ensure that your mailing list is strong and healthy.

Offer Something For Free

One of the oldest advertising gimmicks in the book is still one of the more effective. Its important to keep in mind that you really want your mailing list to have opt in clients. Those are the people that are much more likely to read what youve got for them, and offering this kind of incentive will push them to sign up. One of the more effective techniques is to get a content writer to write a free ebook and then offer the use of it as a bonus for signing on.

Contests

People love to be included in interactive events. Sponsoring a contest on your site draws people in to sign. There is one drawback that youll need to be aware of if you travel this route. Not everyone who subscribes in this manner will eventually convert into a sale. Many of the people that you attract this way will be people habitually playing all the contests looking for the latest freebie.

Article Marketing

This is one of the most tried and tested methods used today. Hiring a ghost writer who will work for a reasonable fee all but ensures that youll get a series of professional articles submitted that cant help but eventually build your mailing list.

Directories

Again, this is one of the more traditional but effective methods used on the Internet. Business Directories are a great way of getting your name out there in cyberspace so that you can draw the kind of attention that will help to build your mailing list in the end.

Of course there are other methods that include ad swaps and hover ads, but the major point here is that you want to have people subscribe to your mailing list. That way, youll already have their willing attention and the buildup on your mailing list will result in a solid email marketing campaign. - 16759

Create a Warm Ambiance with Beach or Summer Wedding Favors

By Aaron H.

Summertime weddings are among the most festive of the year. Bright colors and beach themes abound when couples marry in summer. Choosing wedding favors to give out at summer weddings is a lot more fun because everything is so warm and cheerful. Many couples like to create a warm mood with beach or summer wedding favors.

Many couples choose to marry on beaches in summer. The setting, decorations, and themes associated with beach weddings tend to be life centered, seahorses, sea shells, and fish are popular choices for decorations and favors. Other items are extremely bright and cheerfully colored. Beach wedding favors often follow these same trends. They make great keepsake items that people can hold onto as reminders of the beach wedding and the incredible atmosphere created by the mild climate, the smell of salt in the air, and the love of the bride and groom.

It is normal for summer wedding favors to be colorful and cheerful. They celebrate life and its changes as things born in spring grow and mature, just as the love of the couple has grown and matured to the point they have chosen to step into marriage.

Beach or summer wedding favors are given to the guests at these weddings as special "Thank you" gifts that express the gratitude felt by the couple to those who attend their wedding and help to make this the happiest day of their lives. Favors are able to convey this feeling in a much clearer manner with more meaning than simply sending out "Thank you" cards after the event is over. Beach and summer wedding favors are cheerful by nature to mark the cheerful feelings in the air at this special time of year.

It is customary to choose wedding favors that fit into the theme of the wedding decorations. Beach and summer wedding favors do this quite nicely and help form concrete links in the minds of the guests that connect the objects to the events so that memories of the wedding are recalled years from now when the items are looked at.

Shopping for beach and summer wedding favors is one of the aspects of planning a wedding that couples find to be more fun. The selection of items is so vast that couples usually take a little extra choosing their wedding favors to ensure that each item is perfect for the occasion. Shopping online makes an even wider selection of items available than that found in local stores. The intense competition online usually works to help hold prices down as well.

Summer weddings often carry with them a warmth and cheerfulness that is absent at other times of year. Couples give beach or summer wedding favors to guests because they create that same warm mood in their guests that the couple already share and contribute to making this a perfect day for the couple. - 16759

How to Get the Most Out of a Bridal Fair

By Ciara Daykin

Bridal shows can be completely OVERWHELMING for a bride. There are so many other brides, so many booths, everyone is trying to get from point to point and it can really get crazy. In this special edition of my ezine I'm going to give you some savvy tips and tricks for hitting the bridal fair with style and sass!!

Tip # 1: Wear comfy shoes! - You're going to be walking a mile on a hard tradeshow floor. Yes, it's lovely to look fashionable but the brides in stilettos never last long at the bridal fair. If you really want to see everything and be comfortable think about your feet first! (But be a little elegant and leave the stinky gym sneakers at home... opt for some cute supportive flats)

Tip #2: 1000 Brides Gather In 1 Place - You think it might be a bit of a mob scene? Well then you're absolutely right! If you really want to get some valuable one on one time with the exhibitors I recommend planning the timing of your visit to the Fair. When the fashion show is taking place the booths slow down significantly. This is a great time to chat with an exhibitor or try on dresses at the gown sale. I also recommend first thing in the morning (especially if you want your pick of all those frugally priced gowns).

Tip #3: Your Hand Will Cramp - Many exhibitors will be offering prizes at their booths and you'll be asked to fill out a ballot form. You waste valuable time writing out your contact info again and AGAIN. So print off a couple sheets of labels that include your name, your groom's name, your wedding date, your address, phone number and email. Then it will be easy to just peel and stick your info to the ballots. Then you can spend quality time checking out all the cool stuff on display!

Beware of the Bridezilla - If you think that there wont be a bridezilla at the bridal fair, you are so very wrong. Expect her to be there. She will be pushing your Mom. She will be making fun of your wedding colors. She will push you around to get the prize. She will scream in your ears about how expensive things are. So what will you do when you come across one? Just ignore her. The more attention you pay her, the more aggressive she will get. So forget about her and enjoy the bridal fair!

Be Polite with the Exhibitors - The exhibitors at the bridal fair are the reason why you are visiting the show. So dont be rude and impatient. Be nice to them, request information and wait for them to get through with the previous bride. Believe me; you will end up getting much more if you are nice to them.

Being nice and patient will also help you get some great free advice that you can use at your wedding. Wedding vendors love to work with nice brides and if you are nice to them, you will be surprised to see that they can be really nice to you!

Take Your Water With You to the Bridal Fair - Thousands of people and the heat are definitely going to get to you. And water at the bridal fair isnt going to be free. So bring your own water and stay hydrated. It will prevent you from running away from the show without getting anything out of it!

Make Wise Choices at the Bridal Fair - Agreed there will be lots and lots of booths and lots and lots of vendors. But you dont have to rush to make decisions. The choices are many but you dont want to end up making a choice you regret later on. So here are some tips within this great tip to help you make some wise choices at the bridal fair:

Look For What You Want - If you know what you want, just look around at the bridal fair. As far as the rest is concerned, just have fun! All your vendors dont have to be picked right there. You might like some vendors and you may just not like the others. Get in touch with the ones you like and forget about the ones you dont.

Approach Each Exhibitor Calmly at the Bridal Fair - You cannot run away from the sales pitch. You are there to buy and exhibitors are going to try their best to make sure that you buy it from them. So be calm and ask the exhibitors politely to answer your own personal questions.

Thank Them And Walk Away At The Bridal Fair - If you are not interested, just thank the exhibitor and walk away. Dont take flyers that are of no use to you. Because once you reach home, you are just going to use the ones you liked and store the rest in a box which you will never open! - 16759

What to Know about Buying A Used Snowmobile

By J.D Theis

Is there any joy greater, in the dead of winter, than flying across the snow on a snowmobile? Snowmobiles have been helping people to get from here to there in the middle of winter for almost 100 years, and while they used to be solely a means of transportation, now they are designed for fun and recreation for the most part. The only problem that many have is that a brand new snowmobile can be extremely expensive. If you're looking to own a snowmobile, you can purchase a used snowmobile.

Used Snowmobiles

Many believe that a used snowmobile will not work as well as a brand new snowmobile. This, however, isn't the case. Many used snowmobiles are as beautiful and as safe to ride as brand new ones. Quite often, the kinks in a new snowmobile take a few runs to get out, and a used snowmobile allows you to get a snowmobile that has been conditioned to run perfectly. If you're looking to buy your first used snowmobile, there are a few things that you should keep in mind.

See It Run

No matter whether you're buying a used snowmobile online, or in person, see if it's possible to see it run. Most snowmobiles look great when they're standing there, but have you seen them run? If you're getting a used snowmobile in person, you should be able to see it run without a problem at the place of purchase. If you're buying a used snowmobile online, it is a good idea to see if the seller can upload a video of the machine running. If it isn't possible, make sure you get their word that the snowmobile is running beautifully, so that you can ensure that you will get a working machine.

Find Out If There Has Been Any Work Done

Often an owner will tweak a snowmobile to add a big of customization to the sled. If you're buying a used snowmobile, make sure you find out if there has been anything changed on the sled. If the used snowmobile has had any mechanical work, find out if the work is still under warranty. If it is, make sure you get a copy of that warranty.

Multiple Images

If you're buying a used snowmobile online, it is a good idea to look for multiple images of the sled. While one side of the sled may look wonderful, the other side may have a large scratch on it. If possible, as the seller if they can upload or send you multiple images of the sled. Make sure you ask for pictures of the instrument panel so that you can confirm that everything that the seller has said about the used snowmobile is accurate.

A used snowmobile can be a great way to start out sledding, as you can get a very inexpensive used snowmobile to use for your first sled and you won't have to worry about it breaking with too much worry. - 16759
